Webb County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 193,117. By 2003 its population had been estimated to increase to 213,615. Its county seat is Laredo. The county is named for James Webb, a state and federal judge.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 8,743 km² (3,376 mi²). 8,694 km² (3,357 mi²) of it is land and 48 km² (19 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.55% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 82.16% White, 0.37% Black or African American, 0.47% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 14.00% from other races, and 2.54% from two or more races. 94.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 50,740 households out of which 53.20% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.60% are married couples living together, 18.30% have a female householder with no husband present, and 14.40% are non-families. 12.40% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.10% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.75 and the average family size is 4.10.
