McCulloch County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 8,205. Its county seat is Brady. McCulloch is named for Benjamin McCulloch, a famous Texas Ranger and Confederate general.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,780 km² (1,073 mi²). 2,770 km² (1,069 mi²) of it is land and 10 km² (4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.38% water.
