Lampasas County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 17,762. Its county seat is Lampasas. The county is named for the Lampasas River.


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,849 km² (714 mi²). 1,844 km² (712 mi²) of it is land and 5 km² (2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.27% water.
