Hansford County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 5,369. Its county seat is Spearman. Hansford County is named for John M. Hansford, a Texas state congressman and judge, who was shot and killed by a mob.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,384 km² (920 mi²). 2,382 km² (920 mi²) of it is land and 2 km² (1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.07% water.
