Fannin County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 31,242. Its county seat is Bonham. Fannin county is named for James Walker Fannin, Jr., the commander of the group of Texans killed in the Goliad Massacre during the Texas Revolution.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,329 km² (899 mi²). 2,309 km² (891 mi²) of it is land and 20 km² (8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.86% water.
