Burleson County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 16,470. Its county seat is Caldwell. Burleson is named for Edward Burleson, a general and statesman of the Texas Revolution.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,755 km² (678 mi²). 1,724 km² (666 mi²) of it is land and 32 km² (12 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.81% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 74.07% White, 15.06% Black or African American, 0.50% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 8.25% from other races, and 1.92% from two or more races. 14.64% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
