Marshall County is a county located in the state of Tennessee. As of 2000, the population is 26,767. Its county seat is Lewisburg.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 974 km² (376 mi²). 972 km² (375 mi²) of it is land and 2 km² (1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.20% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 26,767 people, 10,307 households, and 7,472 families residing in the county. The population density is 28/km² (71/mi²). There are 11,181 housing units at an average density of 12/km² (30/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 89.42% White, 7.77% Black or African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 1.46% from other races, and 0.77% from two or more races. 2.87% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
