Cumberland County is a county located in the state of Tennessee. As of 2000, the population is 46,802. Its county seat is Crossville.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,774 km² (685 mi²). 1,765 km² (682 mi²) of it is land and 9 km² (3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.49% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 46,802 people, 19,508 households, and 14,513 families residing in the county. The population density is 27/km² (69/mi²). There are 22,442 housing units at an average density of 13/km² (33/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 98.11% White, 0.13% Black or African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.45% from other races, and 0.79% from two or more races. 1.23% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
