Burke County is a county located in the state of North Dakota. As of 2000, the population is 2,242. Its county seat is Bowbells.

Burke County is named after John Burke (1859–1937), a politician who served as governor of North Dakota and Treasurer of the United States.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,925 km² (1,129 mi²). 2,858 km² (1,104 mi²) of it is land and 67 km² (26 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.28% water.
As of the census of 2000, there are 2,242 people, 1,013 households, and 680 families residing in the county. The population density is 0.8/km² (2.0/mi²). There are 1,412 housing units at an average density of 0.5/km² (1.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 99.24% White, 0.13% Black or African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.04% from other races, and 0.22% from two or more races. 0.36% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
