Sibley County is a county located in the state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population is 15,356. Its county seat is Gaylord.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,555 km² (600 mi²). 1,525 km² (589 mi²) of it is land and 30 km² (12 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.96% water.

As of the census of 2000, there are 15,356 people, 5,772 households, and 4,086 families residing in the county. The population density is 10/km² (26/mi²). There are 6,024 housing units at an average density of 4/km² (10/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 95.57% White, 0.12% Black or African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 3.09% from other races, and 0.62% from two or more races. 5.43% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
